Who Maybank Islamic are

A fully Islamic bank — every product it offers is Shariah-compliant.

Eight Shariah-compliant consumer credit cards are currently listed by the bank, all under the Ikhwan brand: Ikhwan Mastercard Gold Card-i, Ikhwan Mastercard Platinum Card-i, PETRONAS Ikhwan Visa Gold Card-i, PETRONAS Ikhwan Visa Platinum Card-i, Ikhwan American Express Platinum Card-i, myimpact Ikhwan Mastercard Platinum Credit Card-i, Ikhwan Visa Infinite Card-i and World Elite Mastercard Ikhwan. Two further products exist outside that set: the Ikhwan American Express Gold Card-i, which still has a page on the legacy Maybank Islamic microsite but is absent from the main listing and from the Product Disclosure Sheet (status unknown, likely closed to new applications), and the World Mastercard Ikhwan Card-i, which was discontinued when its holders were upgraded to the World Elite Mastercard Ikhwan effective 7 October 2024. SHARIAH STRUCTURE: Maybank Islamic is migrating its entire card book from Ujrah (fee on services) combined with Qard (loan), rebated by Ibra', to Commodity Murabahah (the Tawarruq structure). The notice carried on every card page states that all Islamic Cards approved before 26 December 2025 will have their Shariah contract replaced from Ujrah and Qard to Commodity Murabahah. No Maybank Islamic card document read names Bai' al-Inah. The Product Disclosure Sheet Maybank still hosts is dated October 2024 and had not been reissued for the new contract as at its last archived copy (8 November 2025). PRICING: the contractual ceiling is not a percentage but a 'Fixed Management Fee' in ringgit per product (RM7,500 Gold / RM15,000 Platinum / RM30,000 Infinite and World Elite); Ibra' rebates that down to a tiered Effective Management Fee of 15%, 17% or 18% p.a. (1.25%, 1.42% or 1.50% monthly) depending on how many of the last 12 payments were prompt. Maybank Islamic passes on the RM25 government service tax on every principal and supplementary card.
