What makes this card Islamic

Prime Bank (Hasanah) builds this card on a Ujrah contract. The bank charges you a fixed fee for the service of giving you a card, rather than a charge that grows with the money you owe.

Ujrah, named explicitly: 'Prime Bank's Shariah based interest (riba) free Islamic credit card solution Visa Hasanah Gold Credit Card operating under the "Ujrah" concept.' True revolving credit card, priced on the Hasanah page of a Schedule of Charges that is deliberately separate from the conventional one.

Approved by Prime Bank Shari'ah Supervisory Committee, under the supervision of Bangladesh Bank.

What it costs

Every figure below comes from Prime Bank (Hasanah)’s own published documents. Where the bank does not publish a number we say so rather than estimate it.

Annual fee
Tk 2,500Annual fee reversed/waived on 15 transactions (ATM excluded).source
Profit rate
Not publishedThe card charges no percentage profit rate; instead a flat 'Monthly Maintenance Fee' of BDT 2,500 (Gold) applies — Prime Bank's Ujrah charge on the card. The conventional effective-interest figures printed elsewhere in the same PDF must not be attributed to this card. A profit-free window of up to 45 days applies if the previous month's total outstanding is paid in full.
Cash withdrawal
'Cash Advance/Transfer Processing Fee' — Cash Advance row, BDT 1,000; shared across both Platinum and Gold, not tier-split. Instant cash advance up to 50% of the credit limit is published on the product page.
Late payment
Tk 1,000'Late Payment Fee' — Gold column, recovered by OCR.
Over limit
Tk 1,000
Replacement card
Tk 1,000
Takaful cover
Branded on this card's page as 'Takaful Triple Benefit Insurance'. On accidental death the nominee receives BDT 500,000.

What you get back

Other benefits

  • Maximum credit limit BDT 700,000 unsecured, BDT 2,500,000 collateralised
  • Instant cash advance up to 50% of the credit limit
  • Annual fee waiver on 15 purchases
  • 0% instalments over up to 36 months
  • Takaful Triple Benefit Insurance

Before you apply

  • DQ-4 RESOLVED (2026-09-20): the Hasanah fee table was published as an image with no text layer; re-fetched (via a headless-browser download, since a bare request hit a WAF challenge) and OCR'd this pass with tesseract 5.4.0, every figure cross-checked by direct visual read of the rasterized page.
  • Do not accept a quoted 'effective interest rate' for this card; those figures belong to Prime Bank's conventional cards.
  • The unsecured limit is BDT 700,000, materially below the Platinum's BDT 1,000,000.
  • A 'Markup Fee' row and a separate FX footnote did not OCR consistently with each other (table cell read 3%, footnote states 5% for non-USD overseas transactions) — fees.fx_markup_pct left null rather than asserting either figure.
  • 15% VAT plus annual excise duty per the NBR slab.

What we could not verify

Prime Bank (Hasanah) does not publish supplementary card fee, monthly profit rate, annual profit rate, foreign currency markup, minimum income, minimum age, maximum age, documents required, reward detail, reward caps, shariah certificate for this card, so we have left those blank rather than guess. If you need one of them, ask the bank directly and hold them to the answer in writing.
