What makes this card Islamic

Al-Arafah Islami Bank builds this card on a Qard Hasan + Ujrah contract. The bank lends you the money and you pay back exactly what you borrowed, not a penny more.

Revolving Qard, as named by the bank: 'It is a revolving Quard facility based card only for purchasing Shariah allowed products and services.' True revolving credit card — minimum payment Tk. 500 or 5% of total due, whichever is higher. The return is taken as flat monthly fees, not a percentage.

Approved by Al-Arafah Islami Bank Shariah Board, under the supervision of Bangladesh Bank.

Where these figures come from

Last checked against Al-Arafah Islami Bank’s published documents on 2026-08-17. Banks change fees without notice, so treat the bank’s own document as the final word, not this page.

  • “Annual Fee (Primary Card) | Silver 1000 | Gold 2000 | Platinum 3000 — AIBL Master Circular of Schedule of Charge w.e.f. 13.11.2024”
  • “Product-wise Monthly Maintenance Fee & Monthly Service Charge: Gold | 600 | 570 | 1170 — AIBL Schedule of Charges”
  • “Minimum Payment | 500 or 5% of total due whichever is higher (with fees & charges) — AIBL Schedule of Charges”
  • “It is a revolving Quard facility based card only for purchasing Shariah allowed products and services. — https://www.aibl.com.bd/cards/la-riba-platinum-card/”
  • “Markup (International Transaction) | 2% — AIBL Schedule of Charges”

What we could not verify

Al-Arafah Islami Bank does not publish monthly profit rate, annual profit rate, over-limit fee, minimum income, minimum age, maximum age, takaful cover, reward headline, reward detail, reward caps, terms and conditions for this card, so we have left those blank rather than guess. If you need one of them, ask the bank directly and hold them to the answer in writing.
