What makes this card Islamic

Bank Nizwa builds this card on a Qard Hasan contract. The bank lends you the money and you pay back exactly what you borrowed, not a penny more.

Bank Nizwa's Key Fact Statement names the Shariah basis of ALL its credit cards as Qard Hassan (an interest-free loan). No profit rate; income is a fixed monthly membership fee waived when the full outstanding balance is settled on the due date. The World card carries no annual fee at all.

Approved by Shari'a Supervisory Board, under the supervision of Central Bank of Oman (CBO).

Card page: 'Against Salary Minimum OMR 300 - OMR 600 for Expat'; maximum credit limit OMR 20,000 (2x salary as stated on the page); 'Minimum Credit Limit N/A'; or against collateral with a 110% lien. The published minimum salary is identical across all five tiers; the binding constraint on a World card is the credit limit / DBR calculation, not a separate income floor. Bank Nizwa does not publish over limit, shariah certificate, reward headline, reward caps, apr for this card, so we have left those blank rather than guess. If you need one of them, ask the bank directly and hold them to the answer in writing.
