What makes this card Islamic
Bank Nizwa builds this card on a Qard Hasan contract. The bank lends you the money and you pay back exactly what you borrowed, not a penny more.
Bank Nizwa's Key Fact Statement names the Shariah basis of ALL its credit cards as Qard Hassan (an interest-free loan). There is no profit rate; the bank's income is a fixed monthly membership fee that is waived if the full outstanding balance is settled on the due date, plus a fixed annual fee. This is materially different from the Ujrah and Tawarruq structures common elsewhere in the GCC.
Approved by Shari'a Supervisory Board, under the supervision of Central Bank of Oman (CBO).

Before you apply
- The monthly fee of OMR 6 applies whenever the full outstanding amount is NOT settled by the due date — revolving is charged by flat fee, not by rate, so the effective cost of carrying a small balance is very high.
- Bank Nizwa's site carries a second, stale page for this product at /en/personalbanking/cards/credit-card/basic-credit titled 'Basic Credit Card' quoting an annual fee of OMR 9, a monthly fee of OMR 2 and a maximum credit limit of OMR 300. Those figures contradict the 2025 KFS, the 2025 and 2026 Credit Card Services & Fees schedules and the /standard-credit page. Values here follow the PDFs and the /standard-credit page.
- Late payment triggers a 1% charity donation obligation and is reported to Mala'a, affecting future financing eligibility.
