What makes this card Islamic

CIMB Islamic builds this card on a Tawarruq contract. The bank sells you a commodity on credit at a marked-up price, you sell that commodity to somebody else for cash, and the cash becomes your spending limit.

Commodity Murabahah (Tawarruq), per the CIMB Islamic Bank Credit Card Product Disclosure Sheet dated 1 January 2026. MIGRATION — DATED AND CONFIRMED: ran on UJRAH until 31 December 2025; converted to TAWARRUQ effective 1 JANUARY 2026 under CIMB's Important Notice dated 21 November 2025 (Update dated 31 December 2025); CIMB states the transition is 'closely guided and monitored by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM)'. No cardholder action required; continued use deemed agreement. No evidence of Bai' al-Inah was found for CIMB Islamic.

Approved by CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad Shariah Committee, under the supervision of Bank Negara Malaysia.

What you get back

  • PETRONAS service stations and Setel (MCC 5541, 5542, 6540): 6% cash rebate when monthly statement balance is RM1,500 to RM3,999; 12% when statement balance is RM4,000 and above. Capped at RM60 per month.
  • Groceries (MCC 5411, 5422, 5451), Dining (MCC 5811, 5812, 5813, 5814, 5921) and Cashless Parking (MCC 7523): 3% when statement balance is RM1,500 to RM3,999; 6% when statement balance is RM4,000 and above. Capped at RM60 per month across these three categories combined.
  • Overseas (retail spend in a currency other than Ringgit Malaysia, or falling under Dynamic Currency Conversion): 1% cash rebate at both statement balance tiers, unlimited — product page states this applies for statement balance RM1,500 and above.
  • Headline annual maximum: 'Up to RM1,440 Cash Rebate Annually' (RM120 per month across the two capped buckets).

The cap is the part that matters

RM60 per month on PETRONAS/Setel plus RM60 per month on groceries, dining and parking combined (RM120 per month, RM1,440 per year); overseas 1% is uncapped

Other benefits

  • Up to 12% cash rebate on PETRONAS, Setel and PETRONAS EV charging spend
  • Up to 6% cash rebate on groceries, dining and cashless parking
  • Unlimited 1% cash rebate on overseas spend for statement balance RM1,500 and above
  • Complimentary 4X Plaza Premium airport lounge access per calendar year
  • Travel takaful up to RM300,000 when the airline ticket is paid in full with the card
  • 12X Sky Lounge and Sky Lounge Xpress access at SkyPark Terminal, Subang Airport, on minimum RM2,000 spend in the same calendar month (valid 1 February 2026 to 31 January 2027)
  • Up to RM68 cash back at Flight Club Airport Dining outlets on minimum RM2,000 monthly spend (valid 1 February 2026 to 31 January 2027)
  • 0% Easy Pay for up to 24 months at selected Proton and Perodua service centres
  • No annual fee on principal or supplementary cards

Before you apply

  • The headline 12% rate requires a monthly statement balance of RM4,000 or above. Between RM1,500 and RM3,999 it halves to 6%; the T&C publishes no rate for a statement balance below RM1,500.
  • Statement Balance is defined to include balances carried forward from the previous month, so the qualifying threshold rewards carrying a balance — on which the 15% to 18% p.a. effective profit rate would then accrue.
  • The RM60 monthly fuel cap means the 12% rate is exhausted at RM500 of PETRONAS spend.
  • Several headline perks (Sky Lounge access, Flight Club dining cash back) are time-boxed campaigns running only to 31 January 2027, not permanent card features.
  • Government service tax of RM25 is imposed on each new principal AND each supplementary card upon activation and annual renewal.
  • Overseas transactions carry a 1% administrative cost plus any network transaction fee — which materially offsets the 1% overseas cash rebate.
  • Card replacement costs RM50 from the second replacement onwards.
