What makes this card Islamic

Arab National Bank builds this card on a Tawarruq contract. The bank sells you a commodity on credit at a marked-up price, you sell that commodity to somebody else for cash, and the cash becomes your spending limit.

anb's own credit card documents name TAWARRUQ. The Generic Credit Card Terms and Conditions carry a Power of Attorney clause in which the cardholder irrevocably assigns anb's Islamic Banking Operation as agent to purchase commodities and sell them whenever there is an outstanding balance on the card at the payment due date. The fee table row is labelled "Tawarouq Rate" and the APR footnote refers to "a monthly Tawarouq rate". The bank's July 2025 customer notice states "The terms and conditions have also been updated along with the monthly tawaruq profit for all anb credit cards starting from August 17, 2025."

Approved by Anb Shariah Board (endorses all products developed by the Islamic Banking Division), under the supervision of Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

What it costs

Every figure below comes from Arab National Bank’s own published documents. Where the bank does not publish a number we say so rather than estimate it.

Profit rate
Not publishedanb does NOT publish a single monthly profit rate per card. The monthly Tawarruq profit margin is set by customer risk grade: Risk Grade 1 = 2.49%, Grade 2 = 2.79%, Grade 3 = 2.99%, Grade 4 = 3.25%, effective 17 August 2025 (previously 2.20% / 2.49% / 2.79% / 2.99%). The tariff row simply reads "Tawarouq Profit - Varies based in customer risk assessment". IMPORTANT: the per-card APR figures anb publishes are footnoted "The example on APR Based on limit of SAR 10,000 and a monthly Tawarouq rate of 2.20%" - i.e. they are computed on the OLD Risk-Grade-1 rate that the same bank's July 2025 notice says was replaced on 17 August 2025. The APRs are recorded as published; a Grade-1 customer today would pay 2.49% a month, so the real APR is higher than the published figure for every grade.
Cash withdrawal
Not exceeding 3% of the transaction amount with a maximum of SAR 75, applied to ATM withdrawal and to cash transfer to a current account alike. Adding money to e-wallets is free. Cash advance limit is 30% of the credit limit, with a maximum single transaction of SAR 5,000.
Late payment

Before you apply

  • anb publishes no APR and no monthly profit rate for the low-limit cards.
  • anb's tariff prints the low-limit card fees inside a block whose left-hand section label reads "Pre-paid cards", immediately below the credit card block. The products are named "credit card" in the fee rows themselves and anb's Cards page lists Low-limit Cards under credit cards, so they are recorded as credit cards - but the tariff's own layout is ambiguous.
  • All anb fees are subject to 15% VAT, added on top of the published figures.
  • CHARITY CLAUSE PRESENT. anb Generic Credit Card Terms and Conditions, footnote *4: "Late Fine: The delay fine shall be paid under the supervision of the Bank's Sharia Committee in the aspects of charity approved by the Committee." The SAR 50 late payment fee is therefore donated to charity, not booked as bank income.
  • anb gives a grace period of no less than 25 days from the statement date before the due date, matching the SAMA minimum. Statement date is the 5th of each month and the payment due date is the 2nd of each month.
  • Minimum payment is 5% of the total due amount or SAR 200, whichever is higher.
  • Cash advance is limited to 30% of the credit limit and a single transaction may not exceed SAR 5,000.
  • Card delivery fee SAR 50; balance inquiry at an ATM SAR 1.5; wrong dispute SAR 25.
  • If the amount due is unpaid for 90 consecutive days the card is permanently cancelled without reference to the customer and SIMAH is notified.

Where these figures come from

Last checked against Arab National Bank’s published documents on 2026-08-17. Banks change fees without notice, so treat the bank’s own document as the final word, not this page.

What we could not verify

Arab National Bank does not publish over-limit fee, key benefits, maximum age, minimum age, minimum income, network, annual profit rate, monthly profit rate, reward detail, takaful cover, apr for this card, so we have left those blank rather than guess.
