What makes this card Islamic

The bank does not name the contract

We could not find Arab National Bank stating which Shariah contract this card is built on. That is not the same as saying the card is non-compliant, but it does mean you cannot check the reasoning for yourself. Ask the bank which structure it uses, and for its Shariah board’s approval, before you apply.

Approved by Anb Shariah Board (endorses all products developed by the Islamic Banking Division), under the supervision of Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

What it costs

Every figure below comes from Arab National Bank’s own published documents. Where the bank does not publish a number we say so rather than estimate it.

Annual fee
SAR 75SAR 75 for the physical (plastic) card and SAR 50 for the digital-only card, per anb's tariff; the same figures apply to a supplementary card. anb lists this twice, once as "Multi-Currencies card" and once as "Currencies Plastic/Digital card".source
Supplementary card
SAR 75Currencies Plastic card supplementary SAR 75; Currencies Digital card supplementary SAR 50.source
Profit rate
Not publishedanb does NOT publish a single monthly profit rate per card. The monthly Tawarruq profit margin is set by customer risk grade: Risk Grade 1 = 2.49%, Grade 2 = 2.79%, Grade 3 = 2.99%, Grade 4 = 3.25%, effective 17 August 2025 (previously 2.20% / 2.49% / 2.79% / 2.99%). The tariff row simply reads "Tawarouq Profit - Varies based in customer risk assessment". IMPORTANT: the per-card APR figures anb publishes are footnoted "The example on APR Based on limit of SAR 10,000 and a monthly Tawarouq rate of 2.20%" - i.e. they are computed on the OLD Risk-Grade-1 rate that the same bank's July 2025 notice says was replaced on 17 August 2025. The APRs are recorded as published; a Grade-1 customer today would pay 2.49% a month, so the real APR is higher than the published figure for every grade.
Cash withdrawal
Not exceeding 3% of the transaction amount with a maximum of SAR 75, applied to ATM withdrawal and to cash transfer to a current account alike. Adding money to e-wallets is free. Cash advance limit is 30% of the credit limit, with a maximum single transaction of SAR 5,000.

Before you apply

  • NOT A CREDIT CARD. anb's Products and Services Tariff files this under Pre-paid cards. It is included because it appears in the bank's consumer card range.
  • A 2% FX mark-up applies when a currency is unavailable on the card, when the balance in the transaction currency is insufficient, and when the transaction falls back to the current account.
  • All anb fees are subject to 15% VAT, added on top of the published figures.
  • CHARITY CLAUSE PRESENT. anb Generic Credit Card Terms and Conditions, footnote *4: "Late Fine: The delay fine shall be paid under the supervision of the Bank's Sharia Committee in the aspects of charity approved by the Committee." The SAR 50 late payment fee is therefore donated to charity, not booked as bank income.
  • anb gives a grace period of no less than 25 days from the statement date before the due date, matching the SAMA minimum. Statement date is the 5th of each month and the payment due date is the 2nd of each month.
  • Minimum payment is 5% of the total due amount or SAR 200, whichever is higher.
  • Cash advance is limited to 30% of the credit limit and a single transaction may not exceed SAR 5,000.
  • Card delivery fee SAR 50; balance inquiry at an ATM SAR 1.5; wrong dispute SAR 25.
  • If the amount due is unpaid for 90 consecutive days the card is permanently cancelled without reference to the customer and SIMAH is notified.

Where these figures come from

Last checked against Arab National Bank’s published documents on 2026-08-17. Banks change fees without notice, so treat the bank’s own document as the final word, not this page.

What we could not verify
