What makes this card Islamic

Alinma Bank builds this card on a Murabahah contract. The bank buys the thing you want, then sells it to you at a stated cost plus a stated profit, payable later.

Alinma's installment service terms name this card's contract. They describe Alinma credit cards as either Murabaha cards, which let you carry a balance from month to month, or charge cards, which you clear in full each month. This card is a Murabaha card. The bank earns its profit under an instalment sale contract for its credit card customers. Neither the product page nor the fee schedule mentions this.

Approved by Alinma Bank Shariah Board, under the supervision of Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

What it costs

Every figure below comes from Alinma Bank’s own published documents. Where the bank does not publish a number we say so rather than estimate it.

Annual fee
SAR 300No Travel akthr-specific fee is published; SAR 300 is the Infinite tier fee in Alinma's single Credit Cards Charges and Fees schedule.source
Supplementary card
SAR 300Additional card issuance/renewal SAR 300 at the Infinite tier.source
Profit rate
Not publishedTwo Alinma primary sources disagree and neither is treated as overriding the other. The bank's 'Credit Cards Charges and Fees' PDF states a monthly profit rate 'From 1.9% to 2.5% (as stated in contract)' and an APR table of 22.8% (Platinum, SAR 10,000 default limit, 40 months to settle) and 22.87% (Signature, SAR 20,000 limit, 96 months). The live product pages state 'Finance Yearly Profit Rate: Starting from 34%' and 'Monthly finance profit rate: From 1.9% to 3% (as per the signed contract)'. The monthly rate is a contract-specific range in both sources, so no single monthly figure is recorded. FIELD-SEMANTICS NOTE: the 22.8%/22.87% figures are headed 'Annual Percentage Rate (APR)' in Alinma's fee schedule and are recorded in apr_pct. Alinma's product-page 'Finance Yearly Profit Rate: Starting from 34%' is a stated floor that reconciles with neither end of its own 1.9%-3% monthly range, so it is NOT recorded as an annual profit margin; profit_rate_annual_pct is null rather than derived. RE-VERIFIED 2026-09-21 (DQ-7): both documents re-read live, unchanged -- the fee PDF still states the same 1.9%-2.5%/22.8%/22.87% figures verbatim and the product page still states 'Starting from 34%'/'1.9% to 3%' verbatim. One cross-check worth recording: compound-annualising the fee PDF's own monthly ceiling, (1.025)^12-1, gives 34.49%, which is close to the product page's 34% floor -- so '34%' most plausibly a compounded annualisation of the FEE PDF's 2.5% monthly ceiling, not of the product page's own stated 3% monthly ceiling (which would compound to 42.6%). That is a plausible mechanism, not a resolution: it does not make the product page's 1.9%-3% monthly range consistent with its own 34% APR floor, so both sources stay recorded, unpicked.
