OWNERSHIP CHANGE — VERIFIED, RE-CONFIRMED LIVE 2026-09-20: this bank has been MERGED into Sammilito Islami Bank PLC, a new state-owned institution scheduled by Bangladesh Bank with effect from 1 December 2025 under the Bank Resolution Ordinance 2025. Sammilito's own site still states 'Merged Banks: FSIB, EXIM, SIBL, UNION, GIB' as of 2026-09-20, each name linked to its legacy bank's own live website, with the FSIB link now pointing to fsibplc.com. The legacy brand and website were still live and serving branded products on 2026-08-17, but the issuing institution is now Sammilito Islami Bank PLC (sammilitobankbd.com). C-5 (2026-09-20): the bank's OWN domain changed from fsiblbd.com to fsibplc.com since the original research pass — fsiblbd.com now 301-redirects to fsibplc.com (confirmed by direct HTTP check). UNVERIFIED — card offering could not be established. A converted bank: Bangladesh Bank records that 'First Security Bank (At present First Security Islami Bank PLC) [was] converted to Islamic bank'; 206 branches in May 2026, the third-largest Bangladeshi Islamic bank by branch count. The bank markets 'FSIB CARD' on its own homepage, but the only link it provides returns HTTP 404, and its Schedule of Charges PDF does not extract to readable text. Nothing the bank publishes and serves states what card products exist, let alone whether any is credit, charge, debit or prepaid. card_count is left null rather than set to zero — absence of a readable page is not evidence of absence of a product.
