What makes this card Islamic

The bank does not name the contract

We could not find Riyad Bank stating which Shariah contract this card is built on. That is not the same as saying the card is non-compliant, but it does mean you cannot check the reasoning for yourself. Ask the bank which structure it uses, and for its Shariah board’s approval, before you apply.

Approved by Riyad Bank Shari'a Committee (independent), under the supervision of Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

What it costs

Every figure below comes from Riyad Bank’s own published documents. Where the bank does not publish a number we say so rather than estimate it.

Annual fee
SAR 1,300Annual fees of SAR 1,300, VAT not included.source
Supplementary card
SAR 75Supplementary Credit Card Fees SAR 75, VAT not included.source
Profit rate
3.1% a month on the outstanding balanceBank states "Annual Profit Rate 48.89%" and "Monthly Profit Margin 3.1%" in the Dream card fee table. This is the highest published Riyad Bank card APR. FIELD-SEMANTICS NOTE: Riyad Bank labels this figure 'Annual Profit Rate', but it does not reconcile with the monthly rate printed beside it (the monthly rate x 12 is materially lower), which is the signature of an all-in annualised cost absorbing the annual fee. It is therefore recorded in apr_pct and NOT in profit_rate_annual_pct, so it can never be displayed as the profit charged on a balance. The bank's own label is preserved here rather than corrected. Riyad Bank publishes no separate annual profit margin, so profit_rate_annual_pct is null rather than derived.source
APR, as the bank publishes it
48.89%An APR absorbs the annual fee and other charges as well as the profit rate, so it is higher than the profit rate above. It is the closest thing to a like-for-like cost comparison.source
Cash withdrawal

Before you apply

  • All published Riyad Bank card fees exclude VAT; 15% VAT is added on top.
  • Highest published Riyad Bank APR at 48.89% (3.1% monthly).
  • Changing the loyalty partner costs SAR 30 per change.
  • Additional miles or points do not apply to cards issued between 13 November 2025 and 31 March 2026.
  • Supplementary card is NOT free on this product (SAR 75), unlike most other Riyad Bank cards.
  • The 48.89% "Annual Profit Rate" (the highest in the Riyad range) does not reconcile with the 3.1% monthly rate by simple x12 (37.20%). Compound annualisation ((1+monthly)^12-1 = 44.25%) narrows but does not close the gap; Dream has its own separate T&C and is not covered by the general Islamic card T&C disclosure table used to confirm the same pattern on other Riyad cards, so the residual is not independently proven, only plausible (annual-fee inclusion). Not treated as a data error. See research/raw/SA-notes-riyad-bsf-anb-sab.md S03 addendum.

What we could not verify

Riyad Bank does not publish maximum age, minimum income, over-limit fee, shariah contract, takaful cover, annual profit rate for this card, so we have left those blank rather than guess. If you need one of them, ask the bank directly and hold them to the answer in writing.
