What makes this card Islamic

HSBC Amanah Malaysia Berhad builds this card on a Ujrah contract. The bank charges you a fixed fee for the service of giving you a card, rather than a charge that grows with the money you owe.

Same PDS and same structure as the MPower Credit Card-i: 'This is a Credit Card-i which the cardholder will be utilising HSBC Amanah's services and facilities and therefore pays service fee (ujrah) for it.' No bai' al-inah named.

Approved by Shariah Committee of HSBC Amanah Malaysia Berhad, under the supervision of Bank Negara Malaysia.

What it costs

Every figure below comes from HSBC Amanah Malaysia Berhad’s own published documents. Where the bank does not publish a number we say so rather than estimate it.

Annual fee
RM 240Principal card, per annum. Reduced to RM90 if the card was upgraded from an MPower Credit Card-i.source
Supplementary card
RM 120Supplementary card, per annum. RM45 if upgraded from an MPower Credit Card-i.source
Profit rate
15% a yearCeiling: Fixed Monthly Management Fee of RM2,250 per month against a Maximum Credit Limit of RM150,000. Effective: the Actual Monthly Management Fee based on actual card usage, tiered — Purchases 15.0% p.a. (Tier 1, prompt payments 12 consecutive months), 17.0% p.a. (Tier 2, prompt payments 10+ months of the last 12), 18.0% p.a. (Tier 3, everyone else). Cash Advance 18.0% p.a., calculated daily. Balance Transfer / Cash Instalment Plan / Auto Balance Conversion / Balance Conversion Plan each up to 18.0% p.a. DERIVED, NOT QUOTED: RM2,250/month on RM150,000 is arithmetically 18% p.a. of the maximum limit; the bank does not state that identity, so the ceiling percentage field is left null.source
Cash withdrawal
RM50 per RM1,000 of cash advance
Late payment
RM 100Compensation Fee: minimum of RM10 or 1% of the outstanding balance, whichever is higher, up to a maximum of RM100
Foreign currency spend
1% on top of the exchange rate
Replacement card
RM 50

What you get back

  • Spend above RM2000 to earn up to 8% Bonus CashBack on eWallet, groceries, and petrol spend
  • 0.2% CashBack on other Eligible Spend

The cap is the part that matters

Bonus Cash Back Cap for each category is RM15 per category per month, per Eligible Cardholder

Other benefits

  • 20 days management-fee free on all transactions except Balance Transfer and Cash Advance, provided the previous month's statement balance is settled in full

Before you apply

  • The headline 'up to 8% bonus cashback' is capped at RM15 per category per month — a maximum of RM45/month across the three bonus categories, which is a low effective ceiling relative to the RM2,000 minimum monthly spend required to unlock it.
  • Service tax of RM25 per annum on every principal AND supplementary card — passed on, not absorbed.
  • The Product Disclosure Sheet located is dated 2019; the current PDS PDF is image-only with no extractable text, so figures could not be re-verified against it.

Can you get it?

Age
21 and over
Other conditions
Product page states 'A minimum annual income of RM 102,000 p.a. is required'. This figure was confirmed on two independent fetches of the same page with byte-identical wording, which is why it is recorded despite being unusually high for a Platinum-tier card — most Malaysian Platinum cards sit at RM60,000 p.a. Annual figure not divided into a monthly one, per the no-inference rule. 'Primary cardholder must be at least 21 years old; supplementary cardholder must be at least 18 years old.'

Where these figures come from

Last checked against HSBC Amanah Malaysia Berhad’s published documents on 2026-08-17. Banks change fees without notice, so treat the bank’s own document as the final word, not this page.

What we could not verify

HSBC Amanah Malaysia Berhad does not publish network, minimum income, maximum age, best for, apply, terms and conditions, takaful cover, documents required, monthly profit rate, profit rate ceiling annual, shariah certificate for this card, so we have left those blank rather than guess. If you need one of them, ask the bank directly and hold them to the answer in writing.
