What makes this card Islamic

ADCB Islamic Banking builds this card on a Murabahah contract. The bank buys the thing you want, then sells it to you at a stated cost plus a stated profit, payable later.

Commodity Murabaha + Wakala Investment Account (ADCB Islamic Banking Credit Cards Key Facts Statement). Explicit profit-free period of 20-25 days from transaction date when the Total Amount Due is settled in full by the due date. Product page carries the charity clause verbatim: 'You might be required to pay the donation amount as per financing documents. Such amount shall be paid to charity. This will be after deduction of any actual loss that the bank may have suffered due to your default.'

Approved by ADCB Internal Shari'ah Supervision Committee (ISSC), under the supervision of Central Bank of the UAE.

  • The live page's HTML <title> tag still reads 'ADCB Islamic Touchpoint Titanium Card' while the breadcrumb, heading and eligibility text all say Gold - the title tag appears stale.
