What makes this card Islamic

CIMB Niaga Syariah builds this card on a Kafalah + Qard Hasan + Ijarah contract. The bank stands behind you and promises the shop it will pay, then collects from you.

CIMB Niaga Syariah names the same three fatwa contracts, but attributes the recurring monthly charge to KAFALAH rather than to the Ijarah membership fee that BSI and Bank Mega Syariah use. The bank publishes a Kafalah Fee scale by card limit, a Rebate, and a Net Kafalah Fee (Kafalah Fee minus Rebate) which is what appears on the statement. On full payment before the due date the bank states the Rebate equals the whole Kafalah Fee, so the net charge is zero.

Approved by Dewan Pengawas Syariah, Unit Usaha Syariah PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk, under the supervision of Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK).

What it costs

Every figure below comes from CIMB Niaga Syariah’s own published documents. Where the bank does not publish a number we say so rather than estimate it.

What you get back

Other benefits

  • Digital-first: no plastic required ('Praktis, Menguntungkan, Tanpa Plastik')
  • No annual fee on main or supplementary cards
  • Minimum monthly payment of 5% of the total bill, or Rp50,000, whichever is higher
  • Ta'widh (late charge) is a flat Rupiah amount, not a percentage — Rp75,000 up to 30 days past due, Rp100,000 beyond
  • Free card replacement once a year

Before you apply

  • Choosing a physical card costs Rp10,000 a month from the third month — this card is designed to be plastic-free.
  • Cash advance is not available on the digital-only version, and the fee doubled to Rp100,000 on 3 August 2026.
  • The Kafalah fee scale works out at 2.625% of the card limit per month — materially above BSI's and Bank Mega Syariah's 1.75% — so partial payers pay more here.

Other conditions
CIMB Niaga publishes income and age requirements on the individual card pages; they were captured for Syariah Gold (Rp3 million/month, main cardholder 21-65, supplementary 17-70) but not separately for OCTO Card Syariah.

Where these figures come from

Last checked against CIMB Niaga Syariah’s published documents on 2026-08-17. Banks change fees without notice, so treat the bank’s own document as the final word, not this page.

  • “Iuran Keanggotaan (Ujrah) — Kartu Utama: Bebas Biaya; Kartu Tambahan: Bebas Biaya; Kartu Fisik: Rp. 10.000,- per bulan — Tarif dan Biaya Kartu Syariah, OCTO Card Syariah column”
  • “Ta'widh — DPD ≤ 30 Hari Rp. 75.000,- ; DPD > 30 Hari Rp. 100.000,-”
  • “Kafalah Fee : Rp. 262.500,- (lihat pada tabel Kafalah Fee) / Rebate : Rp. 262.500,- (apresiasi Bank) / Kafalah Fee - Rebate = Net Kafalah Fee / Rp. 262.500 - Rp. 262.500 = Rp. 0,-”

What we could not verify

CIMB Niaga Syariah does not publish minimum income, minimum age, maximum age, monthly profit rate, annual profit rate, foreign currency markup, over-limit fee, reward detail, takaful cover, apply, documents required, shariah certificate for this card, so we have left those blank rather than guess. If you need one of them, ask the bank directly and hold them to the answer in writing.
