What makes this card Islamic

Qatar Islamic Bank builds this card on a Murabahah contract. The bank buys the thing you want, then sells it to you at a stated cost plus a stated profit, payable later.

QIB settles the outstanding card balance through an 'International Murabaha' on a commodity and metal portfolio held in common with partners; each Murabaha has a maturity of one month (QIB Cards T&C clauses 25-26). The charge is presented on product pages as a monthly 'Profit Rate' on the unpaid outstanding; QIB's Digital Credit Card page labels the identical 1% charge 'Murabaha Profit'.

Approved by Shari'a Supervisory Board, under the supervision of Qatar Central Bank (QCB).
