A fully Islamic bank — every product it offers is Shariah-compliant.

ISSUES NO CREDIT CARD. Pakistan's first and largest full-fledged Islamic bank — the State Bank of Pakistan's own history page records that 'In 2002, Meezan Bank Limited became the first fully operational Islamic bank in the country' — and it has NO Shariah-compliant credit card. PROOF: the string 'credit card' appears ZERO times in Meezan's own Schedule of Service Charges effective 1 July to 31 December 2026, while 'debit card' appears 37 times. The only 'credit' hits in that document are trade-finance letters of credit. Meezan's Visa and Mastercard products (Classic, Gold, Titanium, Platinum, Infinite, World, Women First, Kids & Teens, Student) are ALL DEBIT CARDS, listed under 'K - ADC Services' with an issuance fee and an annual fee. This directly refutes multiple Pakistani comparison sites (swype.pk, lifeinpakistan.net, clicks.com.pk) that list a 'Meezan Visa Platinum credit card using the Tawarruq model' as the leading Islamic credit card in Pakistan. That product does not exist. Separately, several Pakistani news outlets reported in August 2026 that Meezan intends to launch two Shariah-compliant card products (a charge card and an Islamic financing card) with commercial rollout expected in 2027; this was NOT verified against any Meezan or SBP primary source and is recorded as a lead only.
